The tussle going on for a few days on lifting of tunes for two songs in ‘Rana Vikrama’ (Jagave ondu Ranaranga…and Sitharamayyagari Manavarulu tune) by music director V Harikrishna that amounted to copyright Act violation has been solved with a huge royalty amount.

Lahari Recording Company and T Series joint case on ‘Rana Vikrama’ has been sorted out for a royalty price. The required No Objection certificate has also been cleared for using of the tunes for only this film. The remix from this film is not possible. The digital rights pact with Lahari and T Series was arrived four months ago according to sources.

This is the second win for Lahari Recording Company keeping in mind Copyright Act. Earlier win for using the song of Dr C Ashwath ‘Kanada Kadalige Hambalisuthide Mana…..in Myna Kannada film - Rs.5 lakhs was royalty amount claimed by Lahari Recording Company.

The question is not the money but Act of Copyright awareness to the industry.
